The bar, restaurant and hotel are currently closed until further notice. If you have an upcoming booking with us, please email kat@theroyalhotelandbar.co.uk or phone 01524 65007 to speak to someone about your booking. As calls are being forwarded to someone who is working from home, please avoid calling during unsociable hours if possible.

Advice for Existing Future Bookings

If you have a hotel booking with us in the near future and wish to move, amend or cancel your booking you may be able to do so.

In line with our cancellation policies, all standard rate bookings made either direct through our website, telephone, or through third party channels such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com, can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before 3pm on the day of check in.

If you booked direct either over the phone or via www.theroyalhotelandbar.co.uk you can call 01524 65007 or email kat@theroyalhotelandbar.co.uk and we can amend, move or cancel your booking for you, providing it falls outside of the 48 hour free cancellation period.

If you booked via a third party channel such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com, you will need to use their app or website to move, amend or cancel your booking, as it is not possible for us to internally amend bookings that have come from third party channels

If you booked a non-refundable or pay in advance rate direct either over the phone or via a third party channel such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com and are wishing to amend, move or cancel your booking, please either email kat@theroyalhotelandbar.co.uk or call 01524 65007. We will review non-refundable and pay in advance bookings on a case by case basis and advise on what to do as best as we can

If the hotel is still closed and unable to honour your booking

The Royal will reopen again once instruction has been given by the UK government that it is safe to do so. It is impossible to say when this will be and so we are unable to offer solid advice on whether you should cancel your future booking with us. However, please rest assured, if we are unable to honour your booking because The Royal is closed, you will not be charged for the booking.

Rooms for NHS & Key Workers

THESE ROOMS ARE CURRENTLY ALL OCCUPIED AND WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE NEW GUESTS AT THIS TIME

We are currently offering some of our rooms free of charge to key workers such as NHS staff and Carers, who are in high risk positions and may need to distance themselves from vulnerable members of their households. If you are a key worker who would like to discuss staying at The Royal during this time, please call 01524 65007 or email kat@theroyalhotelandbar.co.uk and we will do our best to help.

This offer of free accommodation is specifically for key workers who wish to isolate to protect vulnerable members of their household. For the safety and wellbeing of our staff and the key workers currently self-isolating at the hotel, we are not able to offer accommodation for any other reason at this time.

We will require a letter from your employer as evidence that you are a key worker in a high risk position wishing to isolate to protect vulnerable members of your household. We will also require card details to secure the booking, although you card will not be charged unless in the event of any damages to the rooms.

Bar & Restaurant

In line with the UK Governments advice, the bar and restaurant are closed until further notice. We are not offering food deliveries or take outs at this time.
