As restrictions relating to Covid-19 across the United Kingdom are eased, we want to give you the confidence that here at The Royal, we have made changes and adapted our business so we can work safely within the guidelines set out by the government. On this page you will find information about what you can expect when you visit us.
Our normal cancellation policy now applies to all bookings, regardless of whether or not cancellations are relating to Covid-19.
- Guests can cancel rooms booked at our standard rates, free of charge up to 24 hours before 3pm on the day of check in.
- Guests who have booked non-refundable rates will not receive refunds in the event that they cancel their bookings
Full payment for a guests stay will be taken from the card used to secure the booking, no more than 24 hours before the guest is due to arrive. This is to minimise the amount of contact required between staff and guests on check in. In the event that the payment is declined, The Royal will attempt to contact the guest to settle the balance. In the event that The Royal is unable to receive payment for the room before check in, guests will be asked to pay on arrival. This payment will need to be made on card as we are currently not accepting cash
Early Check In / Late Check Out
To give our housekeepers space to work safely and allow for extra time to perform a thorough sanitisation of the hotel in between guests, we are currently unable to offer early check in or late check out.
We are currently unable to offer our usual continental breakfast buffet. All guests will be offered a complimentary breakfast bag to eat in their rooms or take away.
Contactless Check Out
Guests are asked to leave their keys in their rooms when vacating, and not bring them down to the bar.
Our housekeeping services are provided by Quick Start Cleaning. We have been working closely with them prior to reopening to ensure that the housekeeping staff are fully trained in new health and safety procedures relating to Covid-19, that systems have been put in place to allow them to work safely, and that they have the necessary equipment required (PPE, cleaning chemicals) to ensure the standards of cleanliness within the hotel are as high as they can be.
Guest Sanitisation and Safety
The safety of our staff and guests is of paramount importance to us. Hand sanitising units have been installed through the venue, and we kindly ask that guests continue to follow government advice and regularly wash their hands, observe any one way systems in place within the venue and practice social distancing. Key touch points that have been identified are being sanitised by staff every 30 minutes.
